Next-Culture
Those people living in cultures beyond the reach of our local church in its everyday, whole-body ministry because of their distance in either miles or years. Yet these cultures are included in the charge God has given our church through the Great Commission. Christ gave his followers the command to reach every nation to the end of the age, making the commission extend all over the globe and into all the future until His return. Therefore, we as a local body share with all believers the responsibility to reach beyond our local community, and beyond our own generation, into the future. Summitview Next-culture Initiatives will be one means by which the church at Summitview pursues that responsibility.

Summitview
SNI is an expression of a local church. Therefore, SNI will commit funds that come primarily from people within Summitview. These financial resources will be committed to next-culture great commission projects that remain, at least in part, a responsibility or a practical extension of the vision of Summitview Community Church.

Because we believe the local church should not have ongoing leadership or financial commitments to any particular project beyond its own locality, but rather these projects would eventually develop their own leadership and financial resources, SNI projects will be planned with a limited time period of local church involvement, passing on spiritual responsibility to local leaders as well as regional and apostolic leadership. Our desire, and we believe God's plan, is to help establish New Testament disciples and churches that are not only self-supporting, but are committed to reproducing New Testament communities beyond themselves.

Initiatives
These projects will be initiatives of the Holy Spirit, begun as leaders or members of our church are called by God to such a project. We believe that as a church is focused on following and honoring God, God Himself will call men and women to a work He has for them (Acts 13:2). Oftentimes, (though not always), God's intent will be for the local church to take ownership of making that initiative successful. As these Holy Spirit initiated works are confirmed through prayer, time and counsel, the financial needs will be made known to the body by church leadership. Special gifts beyond the regular tithe can be given as God leads individuals to be involved. If individuals outside of Summitview have a desire to support a particular initiative they are welcome to do so, but SNI is not a fundraising organization beyond the local church and will not actively seek support that way.

These initiatives could be fruitful opportunities in our own town that lie beyond the scope of what Summitview could do through its regular resources. They could be churches we ourselves start down the road or around the globe. Or they could be key partnerships where we can share not just financially, but through other involvement as well. Any great commission project beyond the reach of the local ministry of Summitview Community Church could be in the the sphere of Summitview Next-culture Initiatives.
