Ministry Index

In Brief

Empty nesters are married couples with grown children, as well as singles and couples with no children, who are 50 or older.

Vision

The Empty Nester vision is to encourage each other to press on to the high calling of God in Christ Jesus and to share God's love with tthe people in our church and our community.

Although nests may be empty, hearts are full of the Gospel, to both pursue God and to reach out in love to those who need support, within our Empty Nester groups and also to all seasons of life at Summitview.

Discipleship Teams

Empty Nester groups are very diverse, with singles and married couples, some retired and some still working, and a few with older children still at home.  Almost everyone has family commitments - children, grandchildren or parents - as well as various areas of ministry, from serving at Summitview to mission work in far away places.

We currently have two Discipleship Teams that meet at different times during the week.  During the summer when we meet less frequently.  Our meetings average about twelve people, and we take great delight in welcoming visitors.  We participate enthusiastically in topical Bible studies and discussions of the pastor's teachings and lovingly support each other during times of struggle.
