Discipleship Teams

Discipleship Teams are the heart of our church. These teams meet weekly in homes around the city to worship, study the Word, fellowship and unite to serve others. At Summitview our Discipleship Teams are organized by Seasons of Life, so your team will be made up of others who are in a similar stage of life.

Discipleship Team FAQ

I don't know anyone at Summitview and feel weird just showing up.

Contact one of our Season of Life Ministry Directors, who will be happy to meet with you and introduce you to some of the team leaders. Joining a Discipleship Team is the best way to meet people and establish deep relationships within the church. You can also join us for a Flyover or Discovery Class.

Aren't these groups already established? I don't want to just "barge in" to a group that's been meeting for awhile.

Discipleship Teams are designed to always have a place for new people! Our Discipleship Teams are dynamic groups, and as teams grow, they often will "multiply" into two new teams to accomodate even more new people. Please join us!

What if I don't know much about the Bible?

No problem! Discipleship Teams are a place to learn and grow in your relationship with Christ and they are a mix of young and older believers, displaying a wide range of Biblical knowledge.

What do you study during team meetings?

Each team is different. Some teams do topical studies, some read books, some follow the Sunday teachings, and some do other types of studies. Team makeup is based on your Season of Life, not topic of study and most teams "mix it up" in terms of what they study.

I'm not sure I have time for one more activity in my hectic schedule. What if I can't make it consistently?

While we encourage consistency so that you can build deep and trusting relationships with others on your team, you certainly are not required to be there every week to be a part. But we think that once you get plugged in it will become the highlight of your week - a can't miss event!
