The past two weeks God has brought some tremendous clarity to our direction as a church! Here’s a summary of the specific goals we are trusting God with in 2012:
The Gathering (the Church) as an End
- That we’d believe: believe God desires each of us to be fruitful; that He’s given us spheres of influence; that our unity & love please God & reflect Him to the world; that His Word & His Spirit are the power to save & sanctify; that His wisdom is supreme.
- Practical: Work through the “AIM 2012” worksheet at tiny.cc/AIM2012 to develop a plan for seeking first His Kingdom (Matt. 6:33) this year.
- That every member would deepen in experiencing and communicating the Word resulting in a cultural shift toward celebration, clarity in God’s promises to us, and a desire to obey.
(Col 3:12-16).
- That every member would experience regular, intentional discipleship that addresses real life.
- Practicals - Ask does this exist in my life? What initiative must I take for it to deepen? Commit to making this a priority through real action (visiting D-Teams, etc).
- That the prayer of every member would grow in clarity and intensity.
- Practical - Find Biblical instruction on prayer with this worksheet tiny.cc/NTPrayer; build a 2012 Prayer List (use tiny.cc/AIM2012); join the Friday morning Prayer Team (Fridays, 6:30AM).
The Gathering (the Church) as a Beginning
- That every member would prayerfully consider how to be an ambassador in his/her sphere of influence.
- Practicals: Define your sphere of influence; pray for that sphere regularly; consider how to be salt in light in that sphere; invite other believers into that sphere; serve in new ways in that sphere.
- That every member would communicate the gospel this year in his/her sphere of influence.
